Making a complaint with the DPC
If you wish to raise a concern or lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), you can go to the ‘Contact the DPC’ section of the DPC website and complete the webform in full.
Alternatively, you can email the DPC at info@dataprotection.ie. You will need to clearly set out your data protection concern.
Whichever method you choose should also be accompanied by copies of the correspondence exchanged between you and the data controller. Read our guidance on supporting documentation that may be required when you raise a concern with the DPC. Please note that when submitting copies of the correspondence exchanged, please ensure that you include copies of the original full emails, headers, footers and dates and times should also be visible.
Although you will receive an immediate acknowledgement of your initial contact with the office, the DPC aims to provide a substantive response to queries and concerns within 20 working days of receipt of the original query.
Please note that an acknowledgement only issues when initial contact is made with the DPC and acknowledgement letters do not issue as a matter of course for subsequent correspondence or reminders which may be sent to us after that.
